Lovense Glint Review: A Very Beginner-Friendly Vibrating Butt Plug

We’ve been testing the brand new Lovense Glint, ahead of its October 2026 launch. The Glint is a vibrating butt plug designed for couples, with app control and a feature I haven’t seen on many other anal toys: a touch-responsive sensor that allows physical contact and movement to affect the vibrations.

The Glint is slim, smooth and very approachable. If you have looked at some of Lovense’s larger plugs, particularly the Hush 2, and thought ‘absolutely not’, the Glint is a very different proposition. It feels much more like a beginner butt plug, and that’s great because there are plenty of couples out there who are anal-curious, but not THAT curious.

I’m not a hardcore anal toy user. I own a couple of butt plugs that I enjoy using, but I’m not someone working my way through increasingly enormous sizes for sport. Even by my standards, Glint looked noticeably slimmer than the plugs I normally use. That initially made me wonder whether it would actually stay in place, but happily it does.

Lovense Glint Review: A Beginner-Friendly Butt Plug With Touch Control

What Is The Lovense Glint?

The Lovense Glint is a silicone vibrating butt plug with Lovense Remote app control and what Lovense calls a Touch Motion Sensor.

Rather than relying entirely on buttons or an app slider, physical touch and pressure can influence the vibration response. You can adjust the sensor sensitivity in the app across five levels and choose between three response modes: Pulse, Sustain and Crescendo.

The Glint measures approximately 21.5mm, or 0.84 inches, across, which is relatively slim even compared with other beginner butt plugs we’ve tried. In more useful terms, it isn’t much wider than a finger and is definitely narrower than two.

This is not a plug designed to provide loads of stretch or a very full feeling. It is much more approachable than that, which makes it particularly interesting for beginners, couples who want to experiment with anal play during sex, or anyone who wants vibration without wearing something particularly substantial.

First Impressions Of The Glint Buttplug

When the Glint arrived, Jack immediately asked whether it was for him or for me. All of the packaging and instructions I received showed it being used by a woman, and the design does feel particularly well suited to wearing during vaginal sex. The base flares backwards rather than extending too far forwards, so it is less likely to get in the way.

I previously tried the LELO Surfer and liked it as a wearable plug, but during vaginal sex the base could sit slightly too far forwards and occasionally rub against Jack depending on the position, which was a shame.

LELO Surfer v Lovense Glint

The Glint is much better thought through in that respect. The body itself is smooth, flexible and very easy to handle. There is a physical button on the upper part of the base, although once the toy is inserted you are realistically going to be controlling it through the app or using the touch sensor instead.

The Touch Motion Sensor also makes more sense during sex than it did when I was just testing it with my finger. Pressure and contact against the base can trigger the vibrations, so movement between you becomes part of the stimulation rather than everything having to be controlled through the app. I still find the sensor needs fairly deliberate contact to respond reliably, but this is clearly where the feature is intended to come into its own.

Is The Lovense Glint Good For Beginners?

Yes. In fact, I think this is one of the best things about it.

Insertion was extremely easy. There was no need to stop halfway through, breathe through the widest point or wait for my body to adjust. With some anal toys there can be a definite moment where you have to take a moment, but there was none of that with the Glint; with a little water-based lubricant it simply slid into place.

If you’re comfortable with a finger during anal play, the Glint is not a huge step up in size. Because the body is so slim, there was no discomfort at all, which makes it genuinely suitable for someone who wants to experiment with anal stimulation without immediately moving on to something much wider.

a slim vibrating buttplug

Despite the beginner-friendly size, it does still have a properly defined neck. That was something I was slightly sceptical about before trying it because I wondered whether it would simply work its way back out again, as has been a problem with some beginner anal toys we’ve tried.

It didn’t; once inserted, it stayed securely in place.

Comfort And Fit

The Glint is very comfortable to wear. You are aware that it is there, but it doesn’t create a huge amount of stretch or pressure. For me, that makes it more of a toy for adding another type of stimulation rather than a plug you would choose primarily for the feeling of fullness.

It’s also exceptionally quiet. Once you’re dressed, nobody around you is going to hear it, so if discreet public sex play is your thing, it is particularly well suited to it.

The vibrations are low and rumbly rather than high-pitched and buzzy. Using the button on the toy itself gives you three steady vibration strengths followed by four patterns, although the app gives you much more control.

The Glint is also waterproof, which is particularly important for something designed to go up your bum. After use it can be properly washed under running water with mild soap, rinsed thoroughly and left to dry before storing it.

Comfort And Fit

Lovense Glint Vs Smile Makers The Neighbor

Before trying the Glint, one of the butt plugs I would usually recommend to beginners was the Smile Makers The Neighbor. The Neighbor is also slim and approachable, although it is slightly more substantial than the Glint and has a softer, squishier feel.

It is extremely simple to use, with straightforward button controls and no complicated setup.

Glint fills a similar beginner-friendly niche but adds considerably more technology; you get app control and the Touch Motion Sensor, which means it makes more sense for somebody who specifically wants a couples toy or already owns other Lovense products.

At around £35, The Neighbor is less than half the price of the £89 early-bird Glint, so if you simply want a slim, beginner-friendly vibrating plug, it is very hard to argue with. What you are paying extra for with the Glint is the Lovense app, remote control, ultra-quiet wearable design and the Touch Motion Sensor, including the ability to control other connected Lovense toys

Lovense Glint Vs LELO Surfer 2

At £89 early bird, the Glint is only slightly cheaper than the £99 LELO Surfer 2, so this really comes down to what you want from a plug.

The Surfer is bigger, firmer and gives more fullness. The Glint is slimmer, easier to insert and much better suited to beginners or discreet wear.

I definitely prefer the Glint base during vaginal sex, as it sits further back and stays out of the way.

The Glint earns its price through the Lovense app, remote control and Touch Motion Sensor, while the Surfer is the better choice if you want a more substantial plug rather than extra tech.

The Lovense Remote App

Connecting the Glint to the Lovense Remote app was extremely straightforward, which has been my experience with virtually every Lovense toy I have tested at this point. You open the app, switch the toy on and it appears without much drama.

The app lets you control the vibrations, adjust the Touch Motion Sensor sensitivity and use Glint as part of the wider Lovense ecosystem, which opens up quite a few possibilities.

You could combine Glint with something like the Lovense Lush 4 or Ferri panty vibrator if you wanted several forms of app-controlled stimulation at once. If you were determined enough, there is nothing stopping you from wearing several Lovense toys while out in public and controlling them together.

Glint and Lovense Domi 2 wand

At home, my preferred combination would be Glint with the Lovense Domi 2. I really enjoy anal and clitoral stimulation together, and a wand gives me the stronger external stimulation I want while the Glint adds something completely different. You can use that combination alone or with a partner, or add an internal toy as well if you really want everything happening at once.

What Is The Touch Motion Sensor?

base of the Lovense Glint buttplug

The Touch Motion Sensor is the feature that really separates the Glint from an ordinary vibrating butt plug, and it does more than simply control the Glint itself.

The sensor is in the centre of the base. Touching and holding this inner section creates a vibration response, with five sensitivity levels in the app and three modes: Pulse, Sustain and Crescendo. It does require fairly deliberate contact; a very light touch doesn’t always register, whereas pressing a finger or thumb against the centre works much more reliably.

Moisture also affects it. I initially thought mine had started vibrating of its own volition before realising that getting the sensor wet can trigger it too. In actual use, I found it less hypersensitive than I expected, but this isn’t a sensor where casually brushing anywhere across the base will necessarily produce a response.

The really clever part is what happens when you connect other compatible Lovense toys in the app. The Glint can act as the physical input for those toys too. Touch the sensor in the base and the other connected toys respond along with it, so you can effectively use the Glint as a touch controller for your Lovense setup – whether that’s internal toys, external toys, penetrable masturbators or nipple clamps.

That gives the feature much more purpose for me. Rather than Jack simply staring at a phone and dragging sliders around, physical touch can control several types of stimulation at once if you already own other Lovense toys.

Using The Glint Plug During Sex

This is where the Glint’s size and shape really work in its favour. Because it is slim and comfortable, it is very easy to wear during vaginal penetration. It stays securely in place, but it doesn’t feel bulky or get in the way.

The base is particularly well designed for this. It flares backwards rather than extending forwards underneath the vagina, so it stays away from the penis during penetration. That is a noticeable improvement over the LELO Surfer for me, which could sit slightly too far forwards and rub against Jack in some positions.

The beginner-friendly size also makes sense here. This isn’t a plug that dominates everything else that is happening. It adds anal sensation and low, rumbly vibration without making anal play the entire focus.

If you like the idea of wearing a butt plug during sex but don’t want anything particularly large or distracting, this is exactly the sort of size that works.

Who Is The Lovense Glint For?

Lube and a butt plug

The Glint is particularly good for anal beginners. It is slim, smooth, very easy to insert and comfortable once it is in. If you’re already comfortable with a finger and want to try a little more anal sensation without a lot of stretching, it is a very approachable place to start.

It is also well suited to couples and public play. It is secure, extremely quiet and discreet enough to wear under clothes, while Lovense’s app gives you plenty of control. The Touch Motion Sensor adds another way to interact physically when you’re together.

Then there are people who already own other Lovense toys. Glint fits neatly into the Lovense ecosystem, but the fact that its sensor can also control other connected toys makes that ecosystem much more relevant here than it is with a standard app-controlled vibrator.

The one group I wouldn’t primarily recommend it to is experienced anal toy users looking for a strong feeling of stretch or fullness. Glint isn’t trying to compete with a large plug, and Lovense already has bigger options such as the Hush 2 which comes in a range of sizes from 1-2.25 inches diameter for people who want something more substantial.

What I Like About The Lovense Glint

The biggest strength of the Glint is how accessible it is. It is genuinely beginner-friendly and with a little lube it goes in incredibly easily, there is no uncomfortable stretching, and the narrow neck keeps it securely in place once inserted.

It is comfortable for extended wear, very quiet and has pleasantly low, rumbly vibrations. You can feel that it is there, but it doesn’t demand your attention in the way a larger or firmer plug can.

The base is another big plus. It isn’t going to disappear anywhere like some of the dodgy jewel-ended plugs, but it sits out of the way during vaginal sex and avoids the problem I’ve had with other plugs where a wide base ends up rubbing against Jack.

Then there is the Touch Motion Sensor. It takes deliberate contact rather than responding perfectly to the lightest touch, but being able to use the Glint itself to control other connected Lovense toys is genuinely different from simply using another remote-controlled butt plug.

What Could Be Better?

The main downside is also a consequence of one of its biggest strengths. Glint is a beginner-sized plug, so it doesn’t provide the same feeling of fullness as something larger. I still found it noticeable and enjoyable, but if the stretch itself is an important part of anal play for you, you will probably want something more substantial.

The Touch Motion Sensor could also be more responsive. It works reliably when you deliberately press or hold the inner section of the base, but a lighter touch can do absolutely nothing. Once you know exactly where to touch it this is less of an issue, but I would like the responsive area to be a little more forgiving.

The physical button is also positioned on the top of the base, which means you can’t really use it once the plug is inserted. In practice, this didn’t bother me because the Glint is clearly designed around the app and Touch Motion Sensor.

The other issue is the price; the early-bird price is £89, which is considerably more than simpler beginner plugs and even more than the £79 Lovense Domi 2 which to me feels the wrong way around! The stated full price is £199, and at that price I would struggle to recommend it at all, although you very rarely see Lovense products at full price so I would take that with a pinch of salt!

I like the Glint, and all things considered it’s a very good beginner-friendly vibrating butt plug, but even at £89 you really need to want the app control, discreet wearable design and wider Lovense ecosystem, because you are not paying for size or raw vibration power.
